Northern Thailand is the best area to visit for montane species. Much of the region is above 1000m, with a few peaks rising above 2000m. In the winter months this is a great area to see migrants, especially flycatchers and thrushes. Other specialities of the region are Giant Nuthatch, Black-tailed Crake and Jerdon's Bushchat.
