Southern
Thailand
has
an increasingly Sundaic avifauna as one travels down the peninsula.
In the past it was almost entirely covered in rainforest,
but now this is restricted to the hill slopes. However, there
are areas where lowland species can be found; most notably
Gurney's Pitta in Khao Pra Bang Khram.
