Collins
Map of Thailand deals with the whole of the country and bordering
areas of the surrounding countries. It also includes city maps of
Bangkok and Chiang Mai
as well as inset maps of Phuket and Ko Samui. The main map illustrates
all the main travel routes but is not detailed enough to show minor
roads, however, its strength lies in the detail of the physical
topography and the number of national parks and areas of natural
beauty that are clearly shaded. Indeed, for those intent on exploring
some of the lesser-known national parks and wildlife sanctuaries,
this map could be a good choice. Additionally, local places of interest
and transport links are shown on the uncluttered main map. An interesting
and useful feature is a chart which provides a guide to travel connections,
distances and the travel time by different modes of transport between
most provincial Thai towns. A comprehensive place-name index including
towns, villages and other places of interest is included on the
reverse.
A fairly robust
cover means that this map is a useful one for carrying around whilst
travelling, particularly for those visiting wilderness areas. |
