On the 8th March I went on a trip to Phanom Bencha NP in order to look for the Chestnut-naped Forktails which are sometimes seen there. It didn't take me more than 30 minutes to find a pair along the stream just below the first waterfalls. I had excellent views for sveral minutes before they dissapeared into the forest. Otherwise the place seemed generally quiet, but a few of the birds seen were, Crested Serpent Eagle, Black-headed, Black-crested, Streaked and loads of Ochraceous Bulbuls, Crimson-breasted and Yellow-vented Flowerpecker.
Later that same day, I went to Nopparat Thara to look for the Pale-capped Pigeons that rooston the islands there. The first flocks started to arrive around 17:00, but, most of them were actually Green Pigeons of some kind, but at least one pale-capped Piegon was positively identified, but there certainly a few more present. I'll have to go back later this week in order to have a closer look at those Green Pigeons though.
Yesterday I went to Wat Tham Seua to look for Streaked Wren Babblers. It surprised me how difficult they were to find. It actually took me over an hour to find a pair. Not too many other birds around, only Red-throated Barbet, Chestnut-breasted Malkoha, Asian Paradise Flycatcher and several Blue Whistling Thrush
Cheers,
