The
northeast, or Isarn, has the annual climate cycle that perhaps most
visitors expect when coming to Thailand. |

Khon
Kaen and the Northeast Weather: From October to February
the weather is largely dry and is described by the locals as the "cool"
season. This may be strecthing a point but in the evenings it can
get quite chilly, continuing through the night until about 8 or 9
in the morning. The temperature builds through March and April and
in the midday sun it can feel like being shot with a laser beam! This
period can be quite dusty too, so that when the rain begins in May
it comes as a relief to most people. Short, sharp showers are characteristic
of the early rainy season, but later on the rain can become fairly
continuous. |
