17/08/07 : Barn Owl has regularly been seen in Chiang Saen recently and on 17th August a Lesser Shortwing, an Oriental Dwarf Kingfisher, a Banded Broadbill and Streaked Spiderhunter were found in woodland near Yonok Wetlands.

A family group of 6 Chestnut-headed Bee-eaters were seen at Yonok Wetlands on 12th August.

07/08/07 : A trip to Doi Lang on the 3rd August truned up some nice species with 1 Rusty-naped Pitta, 1 Cutia and Jerdon's Bushchat. A possible Spot-breasted Laughingthrush was seen; another birder claimed the same species at the same location earlier the same day. Most interestingly, 2 Dark-rumped Swifts were found, which were not in the same state of moult as the accompanying Pacific Swifts.
